Thesaurasize ("we", "us") runs the website at thesaurasize.com and the Thesaurasize mobile apps for iOS and Android. We try to collect as little personal information as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Server logs. Like every website, our servers automatically record each request: your IP address, browser/user-agent, the page requested, and the time. These are used for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate traffic statistics, and are retained only for a short period.
• Word lookups. We count how many times each word is viewed so we can show popular words. These counts are anonymous and are not linked to you.
• Mobile apps. The iOS and Android apps send the word you search to our server to fetch synonyms and definitions. The apps do not require an account and do not ask for personal information; the standard server logs described above apply to these API requests.
• Word recommendations. If you submit the "recommend a word" form, we store the word you suggested, any note you add, and your IP address (for abuse prevention), and we email it to our team so we can review it. Don't include personal information in the note field — we only need the word.
• Bot protection. Forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which may set a token and assess whether the request is automated. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

Cookies, advertising, and ad identifiers

On our website we use cookies to remember your recent word history and to operate the site, and we display ads through Infolinks and other advertising partners listed in our ads.txt. In our mobile apps we display ads through Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, these partners may set their own cookies, use similar technologies, or use your device's advertising identifier (the Google Advertising ID on Android, or the Identifier for Advertisers on iOS). You can reset or limit this identifier in your device's settings, and control website cookies through your browser; blocking them will not stop you from looking up words. We also use Metricool for aggregate website analytics. See Google's advertising policy for how Google uses data from AdMob.

What we do NOT do

We do not sell your personal data. We do not require an account. We do not ask for your name, email, or payment information to use the thesaurus.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the limited personal information we hold, and to opt out of certain advertising cookies. To make a request, contact us.

Children

Thesaurasize is a general-audience reference tool and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
